German Business Review Editorial Standards

These standards set the requirements for reporting, analysis and updates at German Business Review, part of Meridian Review Group.

Sourcing and verification

Factual reporting should prioritise Destatis, the Deutsche Bundesbank, federal and state regulators, municipal statistics and company filings. Link to the specific release or filing where possible, identify its date and reporting period, and check numbers against the source. Attribute third-party reporting. A source link alone does not establish that every statement in an article has been verified.

Facts, analysis and forecasts

Separate reported facts from interpretation, estimates and forecasts. Explain material uncertainty, geographic scope, units and currency. Identify provisional statistics and revisions. Do not present forecasts as completed outcomes or generalise company results into national economic statistics.

Bylines and accountability

Published reporting should carry an accountable byline and a link to the author directory. Contributors must not invent credentials, quotations, interviews, first-hand reporting or sources. Editorial responsibility remains with the publication when production tools are used.

Corrections and updates

Report suspected errors to editor@germanbusinessreview.com, including the URL and evidence. Material factual corrections should explain what changed in a visible correction note. Substantive updates should carry an accurate update date while retaining the original publication date. Minor formatting edits should not make an old report appear newly reported.

Independence, sponsorship and conflicts

Commercial relationships must not determine factual conclusions. Sponsored material and affiliate relationships must be clearly labelled, and paid links must use the appropriate sponsored link qualification. Contributors should disclose relevant holdings, employment or other conflicts that could affect their coverage. Shared group ownership is disclosed on the About page.

AI-assisted production

AI-assisted research, editing or production must remain subject to human editorial responsibility. Tools must not be treated as factual sources. Verify factual assertions against attributable evidence and do not use generated quotations, fabricated reporting or invented market data. Disclose material synthetic media or assistance when necessary for readers to understand how the work was produced.

Market data and financial information

Distinguish live or delayed feeds from dated reference snapshots. State source, currency and observation date when available. A fetch timestamp is not an exchange quote timestamp. Missing or invalid figures must not be replaced with generated estimates. Analyst targets are opinions, and scheduled earnings dates can change. Financial coverage and calculators are informational and do not constitute personalised investment advice.
