Germany's data-centre pipeline is becoming large enough that project comparison is useful, but only if capacity is tied to stage. A 1GW long-term campus concept is not equivalent to 1GW operating today, and a disclosed MVA figure should not be silently converted into MW.
The largest projects currently span Frankfurt, northern Germany, Berlin and North Rhine-Westphalia, showing that the market is becoming more geographically distributed as grid access becomes harder in established hubs.
The largest disclosed projects
Schwarz Group's planned campus near Rostock has the largest long-term potential in the current GBR tracker, with a 240MW initial phase and a site concept that could eventually reach 1GW by 2045. CloudHQ's Frankfurt-Höchst campus is disclosed at 276MW, while Frank Cube and Blackstone's Lippe-region project are each referenced at 200MW.
These figures describe different delivery horizons. The ranking therefore preserves project stage rather than implying that all capacity will arrive at the same time.
Frankfurt remains dominant, but the pipeline is spreading
Frankfurt still contains many of the biggest identifiable developments, including CloudHQ, CyrusOne, DATA4 and several other projects. At the same time, the Schwarz Digits project, Microsoft Grevenbroich and Berlin developments show how power and land constraints are pushing the next generation outward.
That geographic spread is likely to become one of the defining features of Germany's AI infrastructure market.
What this ranking will track next
GBR will update project stage when construction starts, capacity is commissioned or operators materially revise plans. The ranking is designed to become more useful over time as projects move from announcement into delivery.
